Miss TeKolste

I am a passionate bilingual and international educator and an advocate for culturally and linguistically responsive education for all students. I am happy to do this work in my home city of Indianapolis and in the context of the International Baccalaureate program, of which I am an alumna.

I am a proud graduate of Indiana University Bloomington, where I studied Spanish and Theatre & Drama and earned a certificate in Latin American Studies. I completed my junior year of college at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Spain, and I have taught as a volunteer in Xela and San Cristóbal Totonicapán, Guatemala, and Cofradía, Honduras. I earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from Marian University in 2017.

I have had the great honor and privilege of serving students and families as a Spanish teacher at Emmerich Manual High School on the south side of Indianapolis for the past three years. In the summer, it is my joy to teach students in León, Spain, through the Indiana University Honors Program in Foreign Languages. I was an Indianapolis Teach Plus Policy Fellow during the 2017-2018 school year.
